The Webflow Price Guide: Should I need an Account or Site?

The Webflow Price Guide: Should I need an Account or Site?

Webflow’s pricing is an area of uncertainty. There are twelve(!) different plans to choose from. It can be difficult to determine the best fit for your needs.

To make the process less difficult, We’ve put together our web Flow price guide. Find out how to choose the most suitable option for your Webflow website.

Webflow Pricing: What You Should Be Aware of:

Webflow’s paid plans are classified into two groups: Site plans (for singleWebflow-hosted sites) and account Plans (for freelancers and agencies that need to create multiple websites). Plans for the Site start at $12 per month for the basic package (or $29/month for the standard Ecommerce package), and the lowest Plan for Accounts, the Lite, costs $16 per month with up to 10 different projects. No matter your requirements, the best first step is with the no-cost Plan for Accounts, which can handle two projects.

Webflow Site Plan

The plans are ideal for people who require a single published web page, which could be blogs, a business website, or an online store. Websites are hosted using Webflow (unlike accounts plans – check out this section for more information). Plans for Accounts with Webflow section for more details). It is also possible to utilize an individual web address, e.g., www.yoursite.com is one of the major differences between a website with a Site plan and the Account plans (more on this below).

The distinctions between the Site plans are mostly in the amount of storage and traffic limitations and the features offered, and the higher you pay for, the more features you will get.

We’ll start by looking at the Site plans, including blogs, personal websites, and business websites. That is any website that is and is not an e-commerce site.

Webflow Account Plans

When you’re working as a freelancer or an agency creating a website for another person, you’ll likely require an account that allows you to manage multiple projects. That’s when accounts like Accountplans are useful.

These plans allow you to develop a site that can be used for:

  • Make it an unhosted project which is the website isn’t yet published (ideal when you’re working on it); however, you can easily export the code to put it up elsewhere.
  • Create an online staging website with Webflow’s subdomain, e.g., yoursite.webflow.io. They are great to share with clients to collect feedback and make changes before going live. Be aware that a ‘Made by Webflow’ badge can be displayed on the website.

It’s vital to understand this Account plans will not allow you to create the domain of your choice. You’ll have to buy a different Site Plan for each website you’d like to host.

Alternately, you can utilize the plans mentioned above to export your source code to host the website elsewhere. However, you’ll be unable to utilize Webflow’s CMS collection of options for blog sites and store products, forms, and more. This is just for simpler, smaller sites.

There are many plans that you can select from, dependent on the number of projects you’ll need to manage and the features you require, and whether you want to share access with team members:

Ideal for

Everyone! This is a good idea, to begin with, to learn the way Webflow functions. You can upgrade to a different account or site plan in the future should you need to<

Freelancers who aren't working with more than 10 different projects simultaneously and do not require white labeling options

Agency and freelancers who need no limit on projects but do not require team collaboration features.

Agencies that require white labels and team collaboration features

In each plan, you also receive:

  • The ability to invoice clients directly within Webflow (plus the ability to add your charges)
  • unlimited hosted projects (published on the webflow.io subdomain) The only not hosted projects are counted towards the plan’s limits.
  • In the paid accounts, you’ll be able to transfer projects to anyone that has an account on Webflow (such as clients or team members)

The Enterprise account plan is available if you require customized team features. You’ll have to connect with Webflow directly to discuss pricing for this.

Which Webflow plan should I Pick?

Whatever type of website you’re creating or whether you’re a freelancer, agency, or developing it on your own, We suggest using the no-cost Basic plan to determine how you feel about Webflow.

You’ll have the ability to create two websites (each with two pages and 50 items from CMS) and be capable of publishing them with Webflow as a subdomain. This will give you a great idea of the platform and whether it meets your needs.

You can also publish your website using the Webflow subdomain. If you’d like to keep your website on a Free plan (and do not mind having your domain or using a Webflow badge), This is the best option.

However, if you wish to make use of the domain you own, develop websites on top of it, or gain access to new features, you’re required to pay for an upgraded subscription. We’ve explained above that it’s recommended that you choose:

-The Website plan is ideal if you want an unpublished website with a custom domain. We’d recommend:

  • It is the Basis plan is recommended if your website is not large
  • CMS plan for blogs. CMS plan for blogs.
  • The Business plan is designed for sites that will get more than 100,000 visits per month.
  • The Ecommerce Standard program is designed for stores with small sizes (<$50k in annual sales)
  • The Ecommerce Plus program is designed for stores with a mid-sized size (<$200k in annual revenues)
  • The Ecommerce Advanced program is designed for stores with more than $200k in annual revenues.

-An Accountplan is recommended if you plan on developing more than two sites. We’d recommend:

  • The plan can be used as a plan is for up to 10 projects that are not hosted.
  • It is the Pro package. It is recommended if you require more than ten projects that are not hosted or white labeling.
  • The Team will plan for the event that there are several team members involved in the project.

Keep in mind that websites built using Account plans cannot be published with a subdomain of Webflow. If you’d like to create an individual domain, you’ll have to either) pay for additional site plans, or) convert the codes (minus the content from Webflow CMS contents, e.g., portfolios and blogs) for hosting in another location.

Are there any additional charges?

Unlike CMSs like WordPress, Webflow will not need you to purchase other plugins to enable the essential features to function (e.g., SEO, visual editor, forms builders, backups of your site). These are built into the platform and are ready for use immediately.

It’s not the case if you require more sophisticated capabilities compatible with premium software (e.g., members’ areas and live chat tools). The cost of these will vary based on the software and your needs.

With Website plans, hosting is part of the monthly cost, and you will not see any additional charges for hosting.

The following expenses aren’t part of either plan of Webflow plans and have to be considered:

  • Domain names: While Site plans permit the use of the domain of your choice, they aren’t with the domain in itself. You can purchase them via the Webflow service (from or through Google or GoDaddy) and join your web flow website to a domain you purchased from another registrar. To give you an idea of the cost, a .com domain name registered with a registrar such as Namecheap costs approximately $15/year.
  • Templates One of the advantages of using Webflow is that you can create a site by yourself, without using any template (which distinguishes it from its competitors, such as Squarespace). Webflow offers an array of templates for free and a larger selection of premium templates if you prefer to utilize templates. The prices range from $19 up to $149.
  • Hosting for accounts, as we’ve mentioned that if you decide to go with an Account plan and would want to transfer your website for hosting elsewhere, you’ll have to locate a hosting web service. The costs for reputable service providers begin at around $4 to $5 per month.

Webflow Pricing Conclusion

Webflow is often advertised as an alternative that is easier to use than WordPress. Therefore, it is only natural that its plans will accommodate freelancers and end-users alike.

It can be a bit difficult for those trying to select the most appropriate option with numerous options. I hope this guide has made the process easier to understand.
